Renee Nelson was born and raised in California. After graduating from high school she joined and served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years. During that time, she met and married her husband. Renee Nelson holds a Master of Arts degree in Writing Popular Fiction and has been writing fiction, non-fiction and poetry, for over 30 years. She is also a teacher, watercolorist and sculptor. In addition to establishing and operating her home-based company, Nelson Creative Works, she teaches creative writing and sculpture at her local community college. In her spare time Renee serves on the Artist Advisory Council at a local art gallery; she volunteers as a tutor and workshop presenter with her local literacy council; and she and her two dogs volunteer with Pets-On-Wheels, visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Southern Maryland.

Synopsis
On Theona Dawes' ninth birthday she is raped, brutally assaulted, and left to burn in a fire that kills her mother. Somehow she survives.

Twenty-five years later, after enduring an unstable childhood bouncing from one foster home to another, Theo emerges as a gifted artist and successful, but unhappy businesswoman. She seeks the help of a psychiatrist, Dr. Jeffrey Ross, to try and understand her deepening depression and why she experiences frequent blackouts, some lasting for days.

Through therapy, Theo begins retrieving lost time and soon discovers another side of her personality, called Sarah, who for years has been stalking and plotting revenge against her abuser.
