Our mission is our passion. We strive to support and
educate local women writers in the metropolitan region and
across the nation to achieve their writing goals. Our goal and
our hope is to provide events, programs, and learning
platforms from which our members will hone their writing skills and eventually get their work

Congratulations to WWU's Member of the Month,
Christal Lambert for becoming the first WWU member to get a work
published. Her poem, A Tribute, was printed in the first
edition of The Women's Quill newsletter (January 15, 2008).
We are awaiting the completion of Christal's first
manuscript, Prose & Poetry from the Heart. Be on the watch
for this inspirational heartfelt work.
Keep
up the good work, Christal!

Vondell Prince
is an self-published author, and humorist, with a
compelling life story. Her book,
Life Is Too
Short for Long Stories,
published in 2006, is a delightful addition to anyone's readers
list.
Introducing,
self-published author, and WWU's founding member and Chief Editor,
Renee Nelson. Renee joined Women Writers United, when it was a
fledgling in 2006 and became a founding member when the group became
official in August 2007. As an accomplished instructor, editor, and
author, Renee is an asset to our group.
About her novel, Meinong’s Jungle, one reader said it best:…
"Her ability to describe a room, a setting, a persons
motivation, and internal psychological conflicts is right up there
with the best of suspense writers. Nelson bravely gets into the dark
side of the human psyche, and put onto paper thoughts that we all
have, but wish no one knew about. She also seems to have an insiders
view of the subtleties and dynamics of psychotherapy - brilliant
descriptions of the patient/doctor relationship. Further, she "gets"
the mindset of military folks. While she weaves several plots and
sub-plots into the story, Nelson never leaves the reader stranded in
a literary cul-de-sac."
